New Encyclopaedia Britannica Database now at Clayton Library!

12/29/2020

As of January 1, 2021, all CLTPL patrons will have access to the Encyclopaedia Britannica database!
There are three levels of the database:  children, young adult, and reference (adult).

Using Britannica for research will provide patrons with articles, images, videos, quality websites, primary sources and related ebooks on the search topic.  Students and researchers will also be able to access the citation (MLA, APA, Chicago, or Harvard Style) for articles, images, videos and primary sources used in research.

For over 250 years, Encyclopaedia Britannica has been a trusted source of information- and it’s now available 24/7 at your fingertips!

Go to the Links page of our website and select “Resources”. Once you click on the Encyclopaedia Britannica link, you’ll need to enter in your library card number for access.

Happy Researching!

CLTPL is happy to announce that we now subscribe to World Book Encyclopedia and the World Book Ebooks platform!

Patrons can access four levels of the World Book Encyclopedia:
  • World Book Kids (ages 6-10)
  • World Book Students (ages 8-16)
  • World Book Advanced (ages 12+)
  • Timelines (all ages)- see historical events play out in various categories such as history, science, notable people, literature, sports, arts, geography, systems & institutions

World Book Encyclopedia databases provide encyclopedia articles, links to quality websites, media articles, images, & more! The content can be used for student research projects or recreational exploring.

Patrons now also have access to the World Book Ebook platform, which offers a wide variety of books for all ages. The best part about using the ebook platform is that all of the materials are “simultaneous access”- we can all read the same book at the same time, with no waiting!

To access the World Book Encyclopedias and Ebook Platform, go to the RESOURCES page of our website, under LINKS.  Choose your World Book database and enter your entire library card number (no spaces) for access.
